The School, organized by UNENGO MAMA-86, aims to provide local environmental organizations with skills and knowledge necessary for effective implementation of their own projects and enhance their ability to influence environmental policy in Ukraine.

The School for representatives of environmental NGOs has been held by "MAMA-86" since 2015.

The School graduates of 2016 were trained on leadership, advocacy, project management, fundraising, communications, learned to involve volunteers in environmental activities and mobilize community. They also analyzed the possibilities of social partnership and the value of these components in the implementation of environmental policy. An important part of the training was presentation of the projects by participants. Young activists presented their environmental projects and initiatives at a panel discussion and received recommendations for effective planning, evaluation and project empowerment.

The School curriculum consisted of two one-week modules (1st in March and 2nd in June) on good practice in the management of environmental NGO and various aspects of environmental policy.

School coach was Ruslan Kraplych, a chairman of the Ostrozky Charitable Foundation.

All participants were awarded certificates of graduation for representatives of environmental NGOs.

We hope that in future environmental activists and the environmental organizations that they represent will actively cooperate with each other, share their experience, new ideas and together form the environmental policy in the regions.

The project was implemented with support of the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).
